# Connect Google Search Console to ChatGPT

> Add HyperGSC as a custom MCP plugin in ChatGPT Work and use your enabled Search Console properties for SEO analysis.

Connect HyperGSC to ChatGPT through its hosted MCP server. Your ChatGPT account and workspace policies must allow custom MCP servers.

## Before you begin

Complete the [HyperGSC quickstart](https://docs.hypergsc.com/quickstart.md) through property selection. You should have at least one enabled Search Console property.

## Add the MCP connection

1. On the ChatGPT website, open **Plugins**.
2. Select the plus button, then **Add custom MCP server**.
3. Name it **HyperGSC** and enter the server URL:
   ```text theme={null}
   https://hypergsc.com/mcp
   ```
4. Select **OAuth** authentication and complete HyperGSC browser sign-in and consent.
5. Review the connection warning and choose **Create as a plugin**.
6. Install the plugin, start a new **Work** chat, type `@`, and select HyperGSC.

OpenAI's [plugin quickstart](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/quickstart) describes the custom-server and installation flow. Interface labels and availability can depend on your workspace.

## Verify access

```text theme={null}
Use HyperGSC to call get_capabilities and list_properties.
Show the enabled properties and ask which one I want to analyze.
```

The results should match the selection saved in HyperGSC **Connections**. A connection can authorize successfully while having no selected property.

## Ask an SEO question

```text theme={null}
For my selected property, show the top queries over the last 28 days.
Explain clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position together.
Include the reporting dates and any warnings about data coverage.
```

Advanced workflows, such as period comparisons, depend on your [HyperGSC plan and usage](https://docs.hypergsc.com/reference/plans-and-usage.md).

## If the connection fails

Confirm the URL ends in `/mcp`, repeat OAuth when authorization has expired, and start a new chat after installation. If the custom-server option is unavailable, check your workspace's plugin permissions.

Use [troubleshooting](https://docs.hypergsc.com/troubleshooting.md) for property and Google reconnection errors.
