# Connect Google Search Console to Codex

> Configure HyperGSC MCP in Codex, complete browser sign-in, verify enabled Search Console properties, and authorize optional research writes.

Add HyperGSC as a remote MCP server to give Codex access to your enabled Search Console properties. First, connect Google and select a property in [HyperGSC](https://hypergsc.com/connections).

## Add the server

Run the same registration command shown in HyperGSC's **AI tools** page:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp add hypergsc --url https://hypergsc.com/mcp
```

Complete OAuth in your browser:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp login hypergsc
```

List configured servers to confirm the entry exists:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp list
```

In the Codex terminal interface, `/mcp` shows active MCP servers. See the [official MCP documentation](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/extend/mcp?surface=cli) for client configuration details.

## Verify the property boundary

```text theme={null}
Use HyperGSC to call get_capabilities and list_properties.
Confirm which Search Console properties are enabled before reading reports.
```

Use the exact returned `site_url` in subsequent tool calls. Refresh the client catalog after server updates or authorization changes.

## Optional research writes

Saving keywords and SEO changes needs an OAuth grant containing `gsc:read` and `projects:write`, plus an eligible HyperGSC plan.

After setup, try a [weekly search review](https://docs.hypergsc.com/workflows/weekly-search-review.md) or use Search Console evidence while preparing a [content plan](https://docs.hypergsc.com/workflows/content-planning.md).
