# Connect Google Search Console to Cursor

> Add HyperGSC MCP to Cursor, authorize with OAuth, and verify Search Console access with a minimal remote-server configuration.

Use HyperGSC from Cursor to investigate search performance while working on your website. Your Google connection and selected properties are managed in HyperGSC.

## Add the server

Open **AI tools** in HyperGSC and use **Install HyperGSC in Cursor**, or add this server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` for your user:

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hypergsc": {
      "url": "https://hypergsc.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Use `.cursor/mcp.json` in a project when the configuration should apply only there. Merge the entry with existing servers rather than replacing unrelated configuration.

## Complete OAuth

Open **Customize** in Cursor's sidebar and complete the HyperGSC browser authorization. Sign in to the HyperGSC account that owns the Google connection.

Then ask Cursor to call `get_capabilities` and `list_properties`. If no properties appear, return to HyperGSC **Connections**, select one, and save the changes.

## Work from actual Search Console evidence

```text theme={null}
Use HyperGSC to find the top queries for my selected property.
For the page I choose, explain which query intents it already serves.
Then review the page's current source before suggesting content changes.
```

The agent should read the current page content before drafting specific title or description edits. Search performance alone does not reveal the page's current HTML.

## Optional research writes

To save keywords or SEO change records, authorize the optional `projects:write` scope through OAuth and use an eligible HyperGSC plan.

See [authentication](https://docs.hypergsc.com/mcp/authentication.md), [content planning](https://docs.hypergsc.com/workflows/content-planning.md), and [troubleshooting](https://docs.hypergsc.com/troubleshooting.md).
