# Google Search Console analytics with HyperGSC MCP

> Use HyperGSC search analytics tools with exact property IDs, dimensions, filters, date ranges, pagination, and period comparison examples.

These examples show the **arguments** passed to an MCP tool, not standalone HTTP REST request bodies. Replace the example property with the exact `site_url` returned by `list_properties`.

## Basic query report

Call `get_search_analytics`:

```json theme={null}
{
  "site_url": "sc-domain:example.com",
  "days": 28,
  "dimensions": "query",
  "row_limit": 20
}
```

Free supports up to 30 days and 1,000 rows for basic analytics. Paid plans support up to 16 months and 25,000 rows per request, subject to the source's available history.

Use `"page"` for landing pages or comma-separated dimensions such as `"query,page"` for combined groupings.

## Filter an explicit reporting period

Call `get_advanced_search_analytics` on Starter or higher. These are illustrative historical dates; choose a range available in your property:

```json theme={null}
{
  "site_url": "sc-domain:example.com",
  "start_date": "2026-09-01",
  "end_date": "2026-09-28",
  "dimensions": "query,page",
  "row_limit": 100,
  "start_row": 0,
  "sort_by": "impressions",
  "sort_direction": "descending",
  "data_state": "final",
  "filters": [
    {
      "dimension": "page",
      "operator": "contains",
      "expression": "/blog/"
    }
  ]
}
```

The dates are inclusive. Multiple filters are combined with AND, and `filters` overrides the single-filter fields.

Sorting applies only to the returned page. It does not guarantee a globally complete ranking by the chosen metric. Follow pagination and inspect coverage warnings.

## Compare periods

Call `compare_search_periods` with equal-length inclusive ranges:

```json theme={null}
{
  "site_url": "sc-domain:example.com",
  "period1_start": "2026-09-01",
  "period1_end": "2026-09-07",
  "period2_start": "2026-09-08",
  "period2_end": "2026-09-14",
  "dimensions": "page",
  "limit": 20
}
```

Changes are period 2 minus period 1. The position-improvement measure uses period 1 minus period 2, so a positive value indicates a lower numerical average position.

## Query a selected page

Use `get_search_by_page_query` with `site_url`, the exact `page_url`, `days`, and `row_limit` to inspect the searches behind a page.

In every summary, include the dates, filters, dimensions, freshness, and source warnings. Treat missing observations as unknown.
